His set included songs like “That’s All Right,” “I Don’t Care if the Sun Don’t Shine,” “Tweedle Dee,” and “Blue Moon of Kentucky.” Local newspapers took note of the young women swooning over him, and some men even commented they wouldn’t want their girlfriends getting an autograph from Elvis. This performance was one of the many steps in Elvis’s rise to national fame.
